» Internet Kill Switch – Never Let a Crisis Go to Waste: Egypt Today, USA Tomorrow - Big Government
je cite:
The Internet is not really a single network, but actually an interconnection of thousands of PRIVATE networks. Almost all the important infrastructure is privately owned and not the property of government.

Therefore, a "kill switch" would certainly be Unconstitutional, a violation of the 4th, 5th, and 14th amendments (ie: seizure of private property, no probable cause shown, and done unilaterally without due process), as well as the obvious 1st amendment suppression of free speech.

But yes, I see the connection. At some point in the future a leftist "putsch" to seize control and end elections (especially since it's obvious by now that they aren't getting Congress back, and an Obama second term depends more on the Republicans running a crap candidate than Obama's ability to be re-elected). Killing off the Internet so that pro-Constitution Americans who would oppose the Regime would not be able to communicate or organize would be seen as necessary.

There are few things that could induce me, and I imagine other mainstream conservatives to take to the streets with arms, and shutting off the Internet to silence opposition and suspending elections because of a "crisis" are two of them...
