TRUTH ABOUT TAXES. High Taxes, low deficit. Low Taxes, higher deficits.
High wage earners, over $200K/yr, have had their tax rates decrease from
91% Through 1963 (the year Kennedy was assassinated), dropped to
77% in 1964, the year Johnson became President, dropped again to
70% in 1965, and STAYED AT 70% regardless of whether a Republican
or a Democrat was the President.
Until they dropped to
50% in 1982, Reagan President, and dropped again to
38.5% in 1987 and AGAIN to
28% in 1988 all during Reagan's Presidency. This is why he is so
revered by the Anti-Tax crowd who doesn't share the same sense
of shared sacrifice previous generations had.
Deficit History Chart Here
The deficit soared when Reagan was President as he decreased
the tax revenue stream.

PISS POOR FACTS:
In 2009, this Table shows that only 1,198,412, a mere 1% of all wage earners, earned over $250,000. And they PISS AND MOAN about SHARING THE SACRIFICE like their parents or grandparents did. I find this attitude un-American, quite frankly.
While our bridges collapse and kill commuters who earn less than $42,000 a year, they piss and moan about paying a mere 4.6% more in tax.
GIVE USA A FREAKING BREAK! Help end this 30 year cycle of strip mining the country in pursuit of greed. Join the 99% who are already SHARING THE SACRIFICE, the burden of getting out from under the debt of two wars, and a decade of irresponsible tax cuts for the top 1%.
Isn't this logical? Where am I missing a point if I am wrong?
Walk through the history of the US Tax and Deficit History with me. The FACTS.
America needs to either get a better paying job or get a second job. It's what families do when they have spent more than they can pay. They work more hours to increase their revenue and pay off their debts. Just like these families, America needs more revenue.
Would a family in a pinch use their children's food money? take away shelter? eliminate meds for grandma/pa?
Of course not. That could be harmful.
Although 10s of millions of Americans have lost their homes and their jobs because back in the late 1990s Congress and the President thought it would be a good idea to deregulate the banking and insurance industries. I compare that stupid decision to parents telling their teenagers there are no more rules.
You can read the entire Congressional Budget Office Report here:
(note other chart in the report that clearly shows that the tax cuts did not create jobs, btw)
