There have been plenty of developments in #OpESR in recent days, but first I wanted to take a few moments to clear the air, to have a little chat, as it were, regarding the recent issuance of an article on AmpedStatus titled “OpESR Status Update: Empire State Rebellion Day 1.”
Now, I thank David DeGraw for having mentioned in February that something like an Empire State Rebellion may be possible in the first place, because his analysis was true. I also thank him for coverage of our efforts (and by our, I really mean everybody who participated, in any way) in what has become known as #OpESR or Operation Empire State Rebellion, a movement which was inspired by ideas which came in no small part from public reflections about David’s Empire State analysis – and ultimately, which resulted in developments well beyond New York that took on national significance. Finally, I thank David for having invited me to write here, since he invited me to present an alternative perspective to aspects described in the above article.
Today I want to address the article, #OpESR Status Update 1, and provide some updates about #OpESR as well. First, the article requires correction in certain areas. The article begins by characterizing #OpESR as follows: “Media Operation Success, Phase 1 Cyber Operation Success, Ground Operation Fail, Moving Forward.” It is particularly in the area where #OpESR’s ‘Ground Operation’ is referred to as a ‘Fail’ that the article does not take proper perspective with respect to protests. No matter what the number of people at any site across the nation on Flag Day, having smaller groups show up in many sites was not a ‘Fail’ or even “insufficient” for the purpose of supporting the beginning of a much larger process.
